Our first port of call on our Western Caribbean Cruise: Labadee, Haiti –Royal Caribbean’s private resort.

Initially we had planned on spending our time enjoying the soft, white sandy beaches but at the last minute booked an AWESOME sea-doo tour. After all, it’s not every day (for us anyway) that we get to zoom by the notorious island of Tortuga, the major center of Caribbean piracy back in the 17th century.

For the rest of our time in Haiti, we enjoyed the soft, white sandy beach. The sand there was definitely an improvement over Arizona’s desert sand… that sand contains cacti needles. And tarantulas. And scorpions. And snakes…. In Labadee, you can actually walk barefoot on the sands!

Can you spot the crab? I used my phone’s camera for most of these picture so the quality isn’t great.
