CASTLE DOME CITY GHOST TOWN
Getting There: 10-ish miles of unpaved, rough terrain but manageable for a sedan.
The Town: Not all buildings are in their original site but the amount of artifacts left behind is amazing (thousands).

ANIMAS FORKS GHOST TOWN
Getting There: Dirt trail part of the Alpine Loop National Back Country Byway, which is manageable
in a sedan until the ghost town. Any farther along the way requires a high clearance vehicle.

wood, there is still plenty to see. Structures are empty of artifacts. Low traffic.

ALTA GHOST TOWN

private property in an attempt to preserve them. Structures are empty of artifacts. Medium traffic as it is near a campsite.
