Before heading home from our mini weekend getaway in Sedona, AZ (see Devil’s Bridge post & Slide Rock State Park post), we did a short, heart pumping hike up Cathedral Rock. The Cathedral Rock trail is pretty well transversed as it is close to downtown Sedona. GPS will probably take you to the wrong location… I’m guessing this has happened so many times because the city put up a sign telling you you’re at the wrong location & what direction to head to. It’s a little bit of a hike with a steady elevation gain to get to the fun part from the trailhead.
It seemed like 75% of the hikers stop around here. Traffic after this trickles down significantly.
The fun part! It’s actually not bad. Just narrow.
Let’s keep going!
Says who???

Time to head back before the rain clouds pour in.
Cathedral Rock is about 1.5 miles round trip from the trailhead to the “Trail Ends Here” sign. Short and sweet.
