High on the rugged Cornwall coast perches Tintagel Castle, steeped in legend and mystery. It is said to be the site of conception of King Arthur and even boasts of Merlin’s Cave, right below the castle ruins.
St. Michael’s Mount
Just off of Mount’s Bay in Cornwall lies a tidal island crowned with a medieval church and castle dating from the 12th century.
Dover Castle
On our 4th day in the UK, we drove an hour and a half away from crowded London to Dover to tour the Secret Wartime Tunnels & explore the largest castle in England, Dover Castle.
Tower of London
We spent our 3rd day in London exploring Her Majesty’s Royal Palace & Fortress, the Tower of London. Founded in 1066, this castle & prison has been astonishingly well kept. It is also astonishingly crowded.
