Fort Flagler State Park

We spent our Christmas holiday in Washington State to spend time with our loved ones. While there, we managed to explore a few historical sites. Typical Family Outing to Whidbey Island

One of my old family stomping ground is the Whidbey Island area.  With my older brother leaving in just 2 months for basic training, we’re getting in as many family outings as possible.  Today we found ourselves at Whidbey Island again, with a slight detour at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

Oregon Coast, Battle Rock

West Coast Road Trip Part 2 (View Part 1, Part 3)

Battle Rock is about 45 minutes away from Gold Beach. We arrived at the TuTuTun Lodge as the front desk was near closing.  We actually gave them a ring to make sure we could still get into our room.  If you’re looking for tranquility, the TuTuTun Lodge definitely has it.

In the evening when the lights are on around the grounds of the lodge, I’m reminded of a place that would be found in the fairytale woods.

We had dinner at Spinner’s Restaurant & had excellent seafood.
